Service entrance through distribution.

M4 Electric installs and commissions the heart of a commercial electrical system - service entrance switchgear (SWGR), main distribution panels (MDPs), distribution panelboards, motor control centers (MCCs), automatic transfer switches (ATS), and dry-type or pad-mount transformers.

We work for general contractors, healthcare systems, industrial facilities, and commercial property owners across Oklahoma. Every install is to NEC Article 408 (panelboards) and Article 450 (transformers), with ANSI/IEEE C57 and C37 acceptance-test protocols, and arc-flash labeling per NFPA 70E.

Typical scopes: 480/277V three-phase service entrance, 208/120V building distribution, ATS integration with diesel or natural-gas generator, transformer step-down for branch distribution, and MCC motor coordination for commercial HVAC and process loads.

The case for doing it right.

An arc-flash incident on improperly torqued bus connections releases enough energy to vaporize copper and inflict third-degree burns at 10 feet.

OSHA 1910.269 and NFPA 70E mandate qualified-electrical-worker procedures, calibrated torque, and arc-flash labeling for exactly this reason.

Beyond safety: a properly commissioned switchgear lineup saves money for the life of the facility. An IR thermal scan at acceptance typically catches 1 - 3 hot connections per 100A of distribution - connections that, untouched, fail within 5 years and trigger unplanned downtime. Catching them at acceptance costs 30 minutes. Catching them after a flash costs five figures and a shutdown.

How we deliver.

Pre-install coordination. We coordinate with the utility on service entrance metering, with the GC on equipment delivery and pad placement, and with the engineer of record on coordination study and arc-flash analysis.

Install and termination. Equipment set, anchored, and bonded per NEC Article 250. Bus connections torqued to manufacturer spec and paint-marked. Cable terminations on lugs, identified per NEC Article 408.

Acceptance testing. Megger insulation resistance test, IR thermal scan under load, ground-resistance test, ATS sequence-of-operation verification with the generator. All test reports bound and delivered.

Arc-flash labeling. Every panel and switchgear cabinet labeled per the latest NFPA 70E annex with incident energy, working distance, and PPE category.
